The Hindi film industry, which started the year with a shortage of new releases, is now gearing up for a packed second half, leading to multiple shifts in film release dates. The latest movie to change its schedule is Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again. Originally set for an Independence Day release, the film will now light up theatres on Diwali. This move sets up a potential box office showdown with Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which had already staked its claim on the Diwali release date.
Director Anees Bazmee, helming Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, has voiced his concerns about the clash. In an interview with HT City, Bazmee expressed his apprehension, “Clashes are never a good idea. We announced our release date for BB3 a year in advance. I don’t know what to do now.” He elaborated, “All films suffer when there’s a clash. It’s not about confidence in your product—every director, actor, and writer always speaks confidently about their film.”
Addressing the possibility of rescheduling Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Bazmee stated, “We haven’t considered changing the release date yet since we planned it well in advance. Ajay is a good friend, and these clashes are beyond our control.”
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, starring Kartik Aaryan, also features Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri. On the other hand, Singham Again boasts a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, and Tiger Shroff.
