Actors Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna’s much-awaited film Chhaava is all set to release on the big screen on February 14, 2025. While he portrays the role of Maratha emperor Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s son, she will be essaying the role of his wife Maharani Yesubai Bhonsle. Directed by Laxman Utekar, actor Akshaye Khanna plays the role of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The actors recently reached Hyderabad to launch the song Jaane Tu from the film.
As they were welcomed at the venue to the beats of the dhol, Vicky was seen pushing Rashmika’s wheelchair. For those who don’t know, the Pushpa 2 actress injured severe leg injury on her right foot during a gym session. With her leg bandaged, she was seen sitting in a wheelchair, which was pushed by her co-star. While he looked dapper in a purple kurta and pyjama set, she wore an orange and red suit.

As soon as the video was posted on Instagram by paparazzo Viral Bhayani, fans rushed to the comment section to hail the Sam Bahadur actor for being a true gentleman. Apart from posting red heart emojis for him, fans also gushed about his down-to-earth behaviour. One wrote, “He always is a true gentleman, whom The Katrina Kaif fell in love with for.” Another wrote, “They way he’s sitting down to make her feel comfortable.” One said, “Green forest.”
The film found itself in the midst of controversy as in a clip in the trailer of Chhaava Vicky and Rashmika were seen doing the Lezim dance as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Maharani Yesubai Bhonsle. To avoid further hurting the sentiments of certain groups, the director shared that the scene would be deleted from the film.

Utekar was quoted saying, “I have met Raj Thackeray. He is an avid reader and studious person. So, I have taken some suggestions and guidance from him. And I can say his words are very helpful to me. After meeting him, I have decided to delete those scenes where we have shown Sambhaji Maharaj was doing lezim dance.” He had gone to add that Sambhaji Maharaj is bigger than Lezim dance, so they have decided to remove the scene altogether.
Chhaava also stars Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, Diana Penty, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Neil Bhoopalam, among others in pivotal roles.
