Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial Love & War is one of the most-anticipated films of 2026. Announced last year, the Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor & Vicky Kaushal starrer has left the fans excited, since the makers haven’t shared any details about the film as of yet. When it was announced, SLB had revealed that the film would be a Christmas 2025 release. However the release date then changed to March 2026, due to various reasons.
A few days ago, media reports started circulating stating that the film is facing deadlines and might not release on the scheduled date. Sources close to the film, have dismissed the report by The Hollywood Reporter India. They have maintained that the film’s shoot is very much on track and that it will meet its release window.

Quoted by Hindustan Times, the insider told a media publication, “Love & War is on schedule, and the film is progressing as planned. There have been no discussions about a possible delay at the production end, so speculation of this nature is entirely baseless.”
For those who don’t know, the earlier report mentioned that Love & War wouldn’t be releasing in March as they are yet to shoot a mega war sequence in November 2025 and some additional shoot has been scheduled in January 2026. Some reports also mentioned that the delay might happen to avoid Yash-starrer Toxic, which has also been scheduled to release in March. The report mentioned, “It will be impossible for Love & War to finish post-production and come on the big screen two months later in March. So the film might get pushed.”

It is to be noted that Love & War will mark the reunion between Ranbir and SLB after 17 years. For those who don’t remember, Bhasali launched Kapoor in Bollywood alongside Sonam Kapoor, with the film Saawariya. While Alia has worked with Sanjay Leela Bhasali for the movie Gangubai Kathiawadi, the upcoming film will mark Vicky and Bhansali’s first collaboration.
Talking about the upcoming film, details about the upcoming Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial have been tightly kept under the wraps. However, it is being reported that the film is set against the backdrop of war where Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal will be seen essaying the roles of Indian Army officers. On the other hand, Alia Bhatt is said to be playing the role of a cabaret dancer.
