Bollywood’s Mr Perfectionist, Aamir Khan, is all set to make a smashing cameo in Rajikanth’s upcoming film Coolie. Fans have been eagerly waiting to watch him on the big screen, especially after the first look poster and glimpses from the trailer left them wanting more. According to media reports, he is essaying the role of a mafia don in the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial and has charged Rs 20 crore for his brief appearance.
Well, the reports have now been dismissed. As reported by News18, sources close to the 60-year-old actor revealed that he hasn’t charged anything for his work in the film. Quoting an India Today source, the media publication stated, “Aamir Khan has a lot of love and respect for Rajinikanth and the team of ‘Coolie’. He had instantly said yes to the project without even hearing the complete narration. This cameo is his way of showing his love to the team, and he has not charged anything for his role.”

On the other hand, other stars of the film are taking home big cheques. News18 reports that Superstar Rajinikanth has charged Rs 200 crore for the film, up from his earlier Rs 150 crore fee, due to his record-breaking advance sales.
Nagarjuna Akkineni, who essays the role of the main villain, has been paid Rs 10 crore, Shruti Haasan Rs 4 crore, Sathyaraj Rs 5 crore, and Upendra Rs 5 crore. While director Lokesh Kanagaraj has reportedly charged Rs 50 crore, composer Anirudh Ravichander has earned Rs 15 crore.

It is to be noted that Coolie is a part of Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) along with Karthi starrer Kaithi (2019), Kamal Haasan starrer Vikram (2022), Thalapathy Vijay starrer Leo (2023), and Raghava Lawrence starrer Benz, which has yet to be released. The movie is scheduled for release on August 14, 2025.
Coolie will be clashing at the box office with Ayan Mukerji directorial War 2, co-starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani.
