Rajkumar Hirani is fresh off the success of his social drama Dunki starring Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu and more. The filmmaker is now all set to venture into new territory as he announced his OTT debut as a showrunner. The celebrated director has roped in one of the industry’s most talented actors, Vikrant Massey for the project.
As quoted by India Today, Rajkumar Hirani announced that he will be making a series for Disney Plus Hotstar, marking his OTT debut. He stated, ”I’m doing an OTT show, which we actually start shooting this month. I’m a showrunner for that, I’m not directing it”.
The Munna Bhai MBBS director also revealed that he has roped in Vikrant Massey for the series that will be released on Disney Plus Hotstar. Hirani appeared positive about the show and stated, ”It’s something I’m very happy about, with the script and the way it has panned out. On this show, I’m really involved, and it’s in my own space”.

After Dunki and the OTT series announcement, the director also revealed that he has a couple of scripts with him. The COVID-19 pandemic provided him with a lot of time to work on new projects.
Meanwhile, Rajkumar Hirani spilled some beans on Munna Bhai instalments. He said, ”It’s not that I don’t want to do it, 100 per cent I want to do it because I had fun making those films. After every film, I’ve tried to write one ‘Munnabhai’. So, I have five unfinished Munna Bhai scripts lying with me with various titles”.
