Dunki: Vicky Kaushal Learned Why Shah Rukh Khan Is Called ‘Badshah’ Only After Working With Him

Vicky Kaushal is gearing up for two big releases one after the other. His first film Sam Bahadur is a biopic by Meghna Gulzar, which will be followed by Shah Rukh Khan-led Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The actor recently opened up about both films and revealed his experience working with SRK, calling him the Badshah of Bollywood.

While talking to Bollywood Hungama, the actor said, it was a dream come true when landing the role in Dunki. Vicky said, “It’s a dream come true. Unko milna hi dream come true hota hai, unke saath kaam karna to socho kitna bada dream come true hai. (Just meeting him is a dream come true, so just imagine what a big dream it was to work with Shah Rukh). That too, in combination with Raju sir directing you.”

He also revealed that it was only after working with him that he he finally understood why SRK is called the ‘Badshah’ of Bollywood. He also said that there is no one else like him.

Without wanting to reveal details about the film, the actor said, “But itna main zaroor bol sakta hu ki unke saath kaam karke mujhe pata laga ki wo Badshah kyu hain. He is something else. Unke jaisa koi hai nahi. So I can’t talk about it in detail, but I can tell you this. I understood why he is the Badshah, after working with him. There’s no one like him).

Led by Shah Rukh Khan, Dunki also stars Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles. The film is set to hit the big screen for Christmas release marking SRK’s third film in 2023, after Pathaan and Jawaan.

On the other hand, Sam Bahadur follows the story of the life of India’s first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. His career in the army spanned over four decades and five wars.
