Musician Vishal Dadlani stirred the pot on 19 February 2025, when he took to his Instagram Stories to call out the uproar over comedian Samay Raina and YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversy. The drama started after an India’s Got Latent episode, featuring Allahbadia, drew flak for comments some found offensive, leading to multiple legal complaints. As debates raged online, Dadlani jumped in, slamming what he called “nonsense outrage,” and pointing fingers at bigger issues being ignored, like the recent Maha Kumbh Mela stampede.
For those unversed, the India’s Got Latent episode in question aired earlier in February, sparking accusations that Raina and Allahbadia mocked cultural values. Formal complaints were filed, claiming the content crossed lines, which fueled a social media storm.
Amid the chaos, Raina addressed the row during a recent live show, jokingly thanking fans for covering his legal fees. Soon Dadlani, known for his blunt takes, weighed in with an Instagram Story. Dadlani shared a photo with Raina and Ravi Gupta. In this photo, Raina is apparently feeling Vishal’s “hairy arm” during the shoot of an episode of India’s Got Latent. The photo is one of the 20 behind-the-scenes photos shared by The Habitat (India’s Got Latent shoot venue in Mumbai) on 14 January.
“Would you let #SamaRaina feel up your hairy arms every day, or join in once to stop the absolutely hypocritical prudish nonsense that’s going on right now?” Dadlani wrote before adding, “The government wanted to control online content. They’ve been trying and getting stopped for a long time. Our innocent/illiterate public, in this wave of TV-generated outrage, are giving away their own freedom. Not to mention… “what Kumbh stampede-deaths?” Samjhe? Dadlani also shared a clip of Anish Gawande, NCP National Spokesperson, saying, “We’re trying to find an 18th century solution to a 21st century problem. Ranveer ek bahana hai, broadcasting bill lana hai.”
Meanwhile, Raina has been navigating the fallout, leaning on his loyal fanbase for support. Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps, hasn’t directly addressed the legal mess yet. As the India’s Got Latent row keeps buzzing, Dadlani’s sharp words have added fuel to an already heated debate, shining a spotlight on what people choose to fight over.
